For its seventh issue, Garage Magazine, an art, fashion, and literary magazine, will include a virtual artwork on its cover created by man-of-the-moment Jeff Koons. To view the cover, readers simply have to download the Garage Mag App, point it at the cover, and enjoy. Readers can virtually walk around the piece to view it from all angles.

An outgrowth of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow, the magazine stayed with this new-medium concept and brought together gallery owner Tony Shafrazi and contemporary artist Haley Mellin to discuss plastic arts in the age of the digital. Shafrazi, who spray painted over Guernica as a young artist, and Mellin, an artist who paints from jpegs and uses 3-D printing, had a lot to say about the “digitizing of the studio.” We have the excerpt below!
