The Financial Times just posted its report from the Paris Photo art fair which includes a paragraph about the current proliferation of art fairs. It reads:
At a time when most gallery staff barely touch home base before they’re packing up for another fair, I asked one dealer if he grew tired of the international round. “We have to do them,” he said. “People don’t buy from galleries any more.”
Seems like a joke, but you never know. Maybe literally nobody buys from galleries anymore. Read more at the Financial Times.
