Cézanne Painting Catalogue Raisonné Is Now Available Online

Les Joueurs de cartes (1890–92) by Cézanne.COLLECTION OF THE BARNES FOUNDATION

Cézanne’s Les Joueurs de cartes (1890–92).

A quick suggestion this Saturday morning: head over to, register for an account, start taking a look around, and prepare to lose major hunks of time. The site, which just launched, contains a catalogue raisonné for Cézanne’s paintings, with color images of every single known work by the artist and a bounty of supplementary information. It is beautiful, listing 940 works that date from 1860, when he was 21, to 1906, when he died at the age of 67.

The project was completed by Walter Feilchenfeldt and Jayne Warman, who worked with John Rewald on the original 1996 edition, along with dealer David Nash, and the site was designed by panOpticon, a firm that specializes in creating online catalogues raisonnés.
