Florence Bourgeois has been named the director of Paris Photo and Paris Photo Los Angeles, the next of which will run at Paramount Pictures Studios from May 1 through May 3, 2015.
The major fair has been without a director since the January departure of Julien Frydman, who held the position for four years.
Bourgeois, senior vice president of the luxury, culture, and leisure division at Reed Exhibitions, which stages the fair, took over Paris Photo yesterday.
She is joined by Christoph Wiesner, who has been appointed artistic director for both Paris Photo and Paris Photo Los Angeles. A curator and art historian, he has served as senior director of Yvon Lambert in Paris.
“For Paris Photo and Paris Photo Los Angeles this new dual direction, both international and talented, is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the two fairs and explore new territory together, writing a new chapter for Paris Photo,” Reed executive Jean-Daniel Compain said in a statement.
