Earlier today, Time released their annual 100 Most Influential People list, including both the painter Chris Ofili and Björk as art-world representatives within the hundred.

Ofili (in the “artists” category) is called a “visionary painter” by the Ghanaian-British architect David Adjaye, who states that the artist’s “extraordinary talent is to speak about contemporary issues through the romance of painting.”

Björk gets a spot in the “icons” section and a short writeup from none other than Marina Abramović, who dubs the singer an “Icelandic high priestess.” Abramović also had this to say: “As an artist, [Björk’s] always on the edge of everything, but it’s not trendy because even when she is working with the latest technology, fashion, images or sounds, she is always offering her own, deeply personal world.”

As entries on the list, Björk and Ofili join the ranks of both Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
