Belinda Bowring, who has been head of communications for the Frieze Art Fair for nearly ten years, is moving to Christie’s, where she starts this week as head of public relations for postwar and contemporary art. She will be based in London.
“I have had a fantastic career at Frieze but when Christie’s approached me about this position it made me realize that I was ready for a new challenge,” Bowring said in an email. “Christies is an agenda-setting organization with a huge reach across the globe so the opportunity was almost irresistible.”
The fourth edition of the Frieze New York fair opens to invited guests in just a few weeks, on Wednesday, May 13, but Bowring will still have a busy week: Christie’s has three evening sales on tap in New York that week.
