It was announced today that the Web 2.0 accommodations provider Airbnb is to be the “official Community Partner” for all of arts organization Creative Time’s 2015 projects, including “Drifting in Daylight,” an exhibition in Central Park premiering Friday, May 15.
In a release, Creative Time calls the Cara Starke and Nato Thompson-curated show “a dreamy springtime pathway of art winding through the world’s most iconic park,” continuing on to state that “the six-weekend show will tempt visitors to transcend their busy lives, losing themselves along a playful trail of sensory experiences.” A playful trail of sensory experiences! Reminds me of the Airbnb experience in itself, but maybe replace “playful” with “gross” or “menacing.”
The show features artists Marc Bamuthi Joseph, Spencer Finch, Alicia Framis, Nina Katchadourian, Ragnar Kjartansson, David Levine, Karyn Olivier, and Lauri Stallings and runs until June 20. Other “Creative Time X Airbnb” projects include the 2015 Creative Time Summit at La Biennale Di Venezia in August.
