Photographer Catherine Opie is now represented by Lehmann Maupin, the gallery announced in a press release today. Her first exhibition at Lehmann Maupin, which has space in New York (in Chelsea and on the Lower East Side) and in Hong Kong, will open in the winter of 2016.

Opie had previously shown in New York with Mitchell-Innes & Nash, and before that Gladstone.

David Maupin said in a statement:

“Opie’s expansive interest and dialogue with various communities is integral to her work and represents a strong link to Lehmann Maupin’s program, especially with artists such as Kader Attia, Nari Ward, and Adriana Varejão who explore broader societal issues through individual narratives. Her ability to blend deeply personal histories with the currents of contemporary society is something that first drew me to her practice and that unique ability continues to amaze me today.”
