Anita Hill and Others Join Rose Art Museum’s Board

The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, in Waltham, Massachusetts, has appointed five new board members: Lazar Fruchter, Anita Hill, Cynthia Reed, Rivka Saker, and Carey Schwartz.

Fruchter is also on the board of the Tel Aviv Art Museum, and he endowed the Chami Fruchter Video Prize in a joint initiative between that museum and the Rose; Hill is one the country’s most prominent attorneys and holds a faculty position at Brandeis; Reed is a member of the MIT Humanities Visiting Committee, and has served on the boards of numerous museums including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Saker is the founder of Artis, a nonprofit that supports Israeli artists; and Schwartz is an editor and collector.

In a statement, Christopher Bedford, the Rose’s director, said, “This is an exciting time for the Rose. We have ambitious goals for the museum, and I am a grateful to work with a board of this caliber to achieve our collective vision for the Rose as one of the premier university museums in this country dedicated to 20th and 21st century art.”
