Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.

Today’s show: “For a New World to Come: Experiments in Japanese Art and Photography” is now on view at Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. The exhibition explores the role of photography from 1968 to 1979 and how it helped shape contemporary art in Japan. It features 250 works from 29 artists, including photographs, photo books, paintings, sculpture, and film-based installations, and is on view until July 12.
