MoMA PS1, the outpost of the Museum of Modern Art in Long Island City, Queens, has announced the participants in its “Greater New York” survey, which focuses on artists living and working in New York. The roster includes young, emerging artists, a few dead people, and some members of the art world establishment. This is the fourth iteration of the show since its founding in 2000. According to the museum, “This Greater New York arrives…in a city and art community that has changed dramatically since the first version of the survey. Against this backdrop, Greater New York will depart from the show’s primary focus on youth, instead examining key points of connection and intersection between emerging and more established artists across New York, while also exploring aspects of earlier histories of the city itself, and its changing political, social, and architectural fabric.”

The show opens October 11 and was curated by Peter Eleey, Thomas J. Lax, Douglas Crimp, and Mia Locks.
