Beyoncé Visited the William N. Copley Show at the Menil Collection

A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce) on

Proving once again that her taste in contemporary art is exquisite, catholic, and beyond reproach (read: wonderfully similar to mine), Beyoncé just put a photo on her Instagram account that shows her posing inside the current William N. Copley retrospective at the Menil Collection in Houston, “William N. Copley: The World According to CPLY.” (These paintings are from the artist’s “ridiculous images” series.)

Fans will remember that Beyoncé, with her husband Jay Z, owns work by David Hammons, Richard Prince, and Gary Simmons, has posed with paintings by Kerry James Marshall, and recently channeled Pipilotti Rist in a film for her new album, Lemonade, elegantly smashing car windows.

The photo went up about 20 minutes ago, so watch the heavens with fingers crossed for more Beyoncé-CPLY photos. Looking for a review of the CPLY show? Head to the summer issue of ARTnews, in which Anne Doran, an expert on the artist, writes about the exhibition.
