Preparing for a new show at Gagosian, Sally Mann reflects on the loss of her oldest child, Emmett Mann, and her old friend Cy Twombly. She takes a reporter on a tour of Lexington, Virginia, visiting some of Twombly’s favorite haunts, including a bench outside Walmart. Mann said, “One of the most urbane, sophisticated humans alive, he would just sit there and watch the people come out and look at the mountains. He was fascinated.” [The New York Times]

The restaurant at the Met Breuer in New York will be called Flora, and its casual section, Flora Coffee, will open next month with breakfast and lunch. Flora Bar, which will do lunch and dinner, will open later. [Grub Street]

Where Will You Go to See Preserved Tumors in London Now?

The Hunterian Museum in London, which is home to all sorts of curios, including “preserved tumors, skeletons affected by syphilis, and the full skeleton of ‘the Irish giant’ Charles Byrne,” will close until the summer of 2020 in order to undergo refurbishment. [Londonist]
