Following news yesterday of the hiring of Jarrett Gregory as curator, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. has added two trustees to its board: Sonny Kalsi and Ellen Susman. Now with 30 active members, the board is now the largest it has been in the museum’s history, more than doubled in size since director Melissa Chiu started in 2015.

Kalsi is the founder of the New York real estate principal investing firm GreenOak Real Estate, where he is also a partner, while Susman was director of the U.S. Department of State’s Art in Embassies, which is responsible for putting artworks in foreign American outposts.

“Their expertise will be invaluable,” Chiu said of the new trustees, “as we continue to expand our exhibition purview and prepare to host major shows by some of the most significant and influential artists working today.”
