Photos: A Look Around Documenta 14 in Athens

One of the Documenta’s more peculiar moments: down a dirt path within an orchard at the Agricultural University of Athens, which is located on the western edge of the show’s layout, is Ka touba Farafina yé (Africa blessing), 2017, which lists as its materials “fifty-four lambs, the African continent, indigo, pasture, and people.” (More on this later, but here’s one thread to ponder: there are 54 countries in Africa.) For what it’s worth, the lambs seemed pretty chill, not altogether unhappy about being featured in one of the world’s most famous art shows.
