Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.

Today’s show: “Margherita Stein: Rebel With a Cause” opened at Magazzino Italian Art in Cold Spring, New York, this past weekend to invited guests. The inaugural exhibition for the Hudson Valley’s newest museum (or “warehouse” as the founders and collectors Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu term it) looks at the legacy of Margherita Stein, a dealer in Turin, Italy, who opened her first space in 1966 under her husband’s name. Her gallery came to be one of the defining outlets for what would eventually be known as Arte Povera. Below, a look around the show, which officially opens, by appointment, to the public today, June 28.
