Stephen Friedman Gallery Now Represents Lisa Brice and Channing Hansen

Stephen Friedman Gallery in London has added Lisa Brice and Channing Hansen to its roster. Both artists had recent solo shows at the gallery, in March and June, respectively.

Brice, who was born in South Africa and now works in London, is known for her paintings of ghostly figures reflecting on their surroundings. At Stephen Friedman Gallery earlier this year, she debuted a series of blue gouaches on paper that explored female sensuality.

The work of Hansen—brother of the musician Beck and a grandson of artist Al Hansen—typically takes the form of woven abstract pieces in which frames are often left visible. His works, which typically involve the use of a computer algorithm to determine the composition, were on view in last year’s “Made in L.A.” biennial at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, where Hansen is based.
