Jens Hoffmann ‘Departing’ as Co-Artistic Director of Front Triennial in Cleveland

Front International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art announced today that its co-artistic director Jens Hoffmann is “departing” the organization, effective immediately. No reason was given for Hoffmann’s departure, and a spokesperson for the organization said that it had no comment.

Michelle Grabner, the triennial’s other co-artistic director, will continue on at the triennial, which is scheduled to open in July 2018.

Hoffmann, who is the director of special exhibitions and public programs at the Jewish Museum in New York and senior curator at large at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit, is also on tap to curate the 2019 Honolulu Biennial and the 2019 edition of the itinerant People’s Biennial, which is scheduled to run at the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art.
