ArtTable Executive Director Ada Ciniglio Steps Down

Ada Ciniglio.

Ada Ciniglio is leaving her position as the executive director of ArtTable, a New York–based nonprofit focused on the advancement of women in the arts. She has been executive director there since 2013, and before that served as the organization’s interim director. She will stay on through June and exit after that.

In a letter emailed last night, Ciniglio said the reason for leaving was “a great desire to have time to pursue both work and play in more equal divisions.”

Prior to working at ArtTable, Ciniglio had been executive director of High 5 Tickets to the Arts. She has also held positions at the Drawing Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Pratt Institute.

About her tenure at ArtTable, Ciniglio wrote, “ArtTable has regained its stature in the art world, found respect among its peers, strengthened its groundbreaking mentoring of young, diverse women, and gained a national audience for its work. I am truly proud of these accomplishments and of the fact that ArtTable is in an exceedingly strong place programmatically and financially.”
