Here Are the 2017 Tiffany Foundation Grant Recipients

Louis Comfort Tiffany around 1908.

Today the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation announced the 30 artists that will receive unrestricted grants of $20,000 as part of its biennial awards program. Among the artists on the impressive list are Nina Chanel Abney, Abigail DeVille, Sean Raspet, Cameron Rowland, and Kathy Butterly. (On a personal note, I would very much like to see a group exhibition with work by this complete lineup.)

The jury for the awards was made up of Phong Bui, the cofounder of The Brooklyn Rail; Ruth Estevez, director and curator of the Gallery at REDCAT in Los Angeles; Alison de Lima Greene, curator of modern and contemporary art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Chrissie Iles, curator at the Whitney Museum in New York; artists Charles LeDray and Kerry James Marshall; and Bruce W. Pepich, the executive director and curator of collections at the Racine Art Museum in Wisconsin.
