The deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts announced that Jennifer Klahn, most recently the vice president of philanthropy at the Archaeological Institute of America, has joined the museum as deputy director for external affairs. Additionally, Sarah Montross, formerly associate curator at the deCordova, has been promoted to the role of curator.

In her new position, Klahn will manage the strategic growth of the museum’s development, membership, corporate art loan program, and marketing capacities. Prior to her tenure at the Archaeological Institute of America, she held senior management development roles with the Harvard University Art Museums and the nonprofit organization Historic New England.

“Jennifer Klahn is a highly accomplished professional with a proven track record of success in several outstanding Boston area arts and culture organizations,” John Ravenal, the executive director of the deCordova, said in a statement.

Montross joined the deCordova as associate curator in 2015, and some of her curatorial credits at the museum include “Cool Medium, Art, Television, and Psychedelia, 1960-1980” (2017), “Expanding Abstraction: New England Women Painters, 1950 to Now” (2017), and the 2016 deCordova New England Biennial. She is currently working on the deCordova’s spring 2019 biennial and spring 2020 “Visionary New England” exhibition.

Ravenal said in a release, “Sarah Montross has consistently demonstrated vision, creativity, and intelligence with her curatorial projects and we’re delighted to recognize her enormous contribution to deCordova with this promotion. I look forward to the continued success of our curatorial program under her leadership and in her work with New England, national, and international artists.”
