The High Museum of Art in Atlanta has appointed Claudia Einecke as its new curator of European art. Einecke, who begins in her new post on August 15, will be charged with overseeing the European galleries, which are currently being redone as part of a larger permanent-collection reinstallation at the museum.

Einecke joins the High Museum after years of having worked in the Los Angeles museum world. She recently managed a database project with the Getty Research Institute, and prior to that, for a decade, she served as a curator in the European art department at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Kevin W. Tucker, the chief curator of the High Museum, said in a statement, “Claudia’s proven record of achievement as a curator and art historian makes her especially well-suited to lead the continued development of our European art department. We are exceptionally pleased to welcome her to our staff and curatorial team and know she will undoubtedly excel in enriching our European art program with initiatives of both international significance and resonance with our community and its many constituents.”
