The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York will be open seven days a week in 2019, with visiting hours on Thursdays (the one day per week the museum is currently closed) and evening hours until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Attributing the changes to a celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Guggenheim joins several other institutions—including the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art—in keeping its doors open all seven days.

The museum, which first opened its iconic, Frank Lloyd Wright-designed building on October 21, 1959, will hold special events and activities to mark the occasion next year. Beginning in February and continuing on the first Tuesday of every month thereafter, the museum will also host “Silent Nights” for one hour (from 7 to 8 p.m.) for visitors who prefer a quietude when looking at art.
