Peter Schaufler, who died in 2015, purchased his first work—a string-collage by Fritz Rouff—in the 1970s. The collection he built with his wife, Christiane, exceeds 3,500 works and principally represents the Zero movement, as well as minimal, conceptual, and concrete art. The collection–which in addition to painting and sculpture includes light works, installations, and contemporary photography—is housed at the Schauflers’ museum, Schauwerk Sindelfingen, and was the special exhibition at Art Karlsruhe in 2015.
