BRADEN FASTIER, FOR THE DAILY TELEGRAPH

Sydney-based private equity chairman Danny Goldberg’s collection of modern and contemporary works has been highlighted in Australia for his interest in emerging American artists, and in 2016 was on display in a traveling group exhibition “Stars + Stripes: American Art of the 21st Century from the Goldberg Collection.” The exhibition, touring a number of Australian museums and galleries, featured artists such as Sterling Ruby, Davina Semo, and Richard Aldrich. Though the collection is large and growing, he told the Sydney Morning Herald that he buys art according to his own tastes, not with future worth in mind.

Fun fact:

In the same Sydney Morning Herald profile, Goldberg attributed his interest in art to his family, saying: "There were probably two important things my family enjoyed doing. One was eating and the other one was art."
