Lee Kun-hee is the group chairman of Samsung and among the richest people in South Korea. His wife, Hong Ra-hee, is the director of the Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art. The institution was created by the late Samsung founder Hoam Lee Byung-chul (who is also Lee Kun-hee’s father) and boasts one of the most impressive collections of national and international contemporary art in South Korea. The museum is focused on developing Seoul as a city of international culture.
