Nicola Erni’s prolific collection of photography spans two decades—the 1960s and the 1970s—and is rich in imagery featuring the era’s pop-cultural icons, in particular pictures of them at parties. Erni herself penned a photobook, Zeitgeist & Glamour, in 2011, exploring celebrity photography from the era, through Andy Warhol’s Factory, Studio 54, and nightclubs abroad. Erni’s collection is based in nearby Zug, Switzerland.

Fun fact:

In 2015, she commissioned fashion photographer Tim Walker to interpret Hieronymous Bosch’s painting The Garden of Earthly Delights through his own lens; the work was then exhibited at the Het Noordbrabants Museum in Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.
