Latin American art forms a significant part of the collection of Cecilia and Ernesto Poma, who are patrons of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and hosted a private viewing of their holdings for MoMA’s junior associates in 2017. The couple is also on Art Basel’s Global Patrons Council alongside some of the most prominent private art collectors in the world. According to a 2012 Huffington Post article, Ernesto’s father, Ricardo, was one of the first investors in Bain Capital, the investment firm started by Mitt Romney, who would later be the Republican nominee for the presidency of the United States in 2012.
