
Bernard Blistène.
The French Ministry of Culture has appointed Bernard Blistène director of the Centre Pompidou’s Musée National d’Art Moderne in Paris.
The director of the department of cultural development at the Pompidou since 2009, Blistène replaces Alfred Pacquement, who is retiring after 12 years in the job. This is Blistène’s second stint at the Musée National, having served as its deputy director from 1996 to 2002.
Blistène was previously the director of the Museums of Marseilles (1990-96) and the inspector general of artistic creation at France’s Delegation to the Visual Arts (2002-09).
