Jolting viewers out of any lingering feeling of summertime sadness, “Bloodflames Revisited” offers a totally immersive and exhilarating experience. The show’s organizer Phong Bui, artist and publisher of the Brooklyn Rail, provides bright red-orange walkways constructed above hay-covered floors to guide visitors through a show of works by Lynda Benglis, Dorothea Rockburne, Cindy Sherman, Benjamin Keating, Do Ho Suh, Tunga and others. The works are installed against blazing yellow walls in both of Kasmin’s Chelsea spaces. Inspired by an eponymous 1947 landmark exhibition of Surrealist works in New York designed by Frederick Kiesler, Phong Bui’s extravaganza is, no doubt, equally spectacular.
