Christopher Cook

British artist Christopher Cook’s latest body of work—completed during residencies in Indonesia and Italy over the past couple of years—relies on intangibles like instinct, gravity and performative gestures. His medium is graphite powder mixed with resin, oil and other solvents, which he applies to identically sized aluminum panels or sheets of paper. While Cook has previously used this technique to depict ominous-looking tunnels and theater interiors, the works in “A Sign of Things to Come” are mostly abstract.
