A certain corporate mentality in art reaches its apotheosis with this group show, put together by the art collective DIS and independent curator Agatha Wara at the energy drink company Red Bull’s “multi-disciplinary project space.” Some 30 artists provide products for sale in a retail-style installation designed by artist Lizzie Fitch. Among the contributors are Ryan Trecartin, Bjarne Melgaard and Jon Rafman, as well as K-Hole and the Jogging (most recently the focus of Brian Droitcour’s “Young Incorporated Artists” essay in A.i.A.‘s April issue). Even if you puzzle over whether it’s an exhibition pretending to be a store or the other way around, the event is worth checking out before it closes this weekend, with a party featuring an open bar and musical performances from the likes of R&B singer Kelela and the always fantastic DJ Total Freedom.
