To avoid having to wait, be sure to make an appointment to visit Doug Wheeler’s second solo show at Zwirner. It should be so easy to get an appointment in heaven. This “rotational horizon work,” as the artist calls it, offers an immersive, transportive environment by creating a boundless, formless, gauzy cloud of whiteness that the viewer experiences while standing on a padded platform, wearing white booties to protect the piece’s purity. It’s not hard to imagine that you’ve crossed over into another realm.
