Expo Chicago has announced the exhibitor list for its third outing. Featuring over 130 exhibitors from 17 countries—up slightly from about 120 last year and 100 in its first outing—the fair will take place at the city’s Navy Pier Sept. 18-21.
“We’re thrilled that the anchors like Massimo De Carlo, Matthew Marks, David Zwirner and Marianne Boesky are all back,” fair director Tony Karman told A.i.A. “And we have great additions like Lisson Gallery [London] and Elizabeth Dee and Van Doren Waxter [both New York].”
Other new exhibitors include Bortolami Galley (New York), Blain|Southern (London), Lisson Gallery (London), Meessen De Clercq (Brussels) and Thomas Solomon (Los Angeles). The list features 19 hometown exhibitors.
“We’ve broadened a bit more into the Far East,” Karman added. “Last year we had one from Tokyo and now we have three, as well as One and J. from Seoul.”
A number of area museums will roll out notable shows at the time of the fair, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, with “David Bowie Is,” the Renaissance Society with Josef Strau, and, Karman said, more to come.
