Who says painting’s dead? Guillermo Kuitca proves time and again that there’s much more to be explored with the medium. In recent years, he has developed a style of painting that recalls Analytical Cubism. He doesn’t so much resurrect the genre as reinvent it in “This Way,” a show that features a tour de force: an untitled room-size installation contained within the first-floor gallery. The Argentine artist painted murals on all four walls of the room’s interior. Unadorned and innocuous from the outside, the installation offers an immersive experience of painting. Why didn’t the Cubists think of this?
