Who needs to curate an exhibition when the artists are already, as it were, the chosen? What may have been conceived as a bad joke has turned out to be a worthwhile summer show. “Jew York,” a survey of more than 70 artists split between Untitled and Zach Feuer galleries is a riff on global biennial culture that showcases work by Jewish artists ranging from Eva Hesse to Dustin Yellin in what the press release calls “their natural habitats-the Lower East Side and Chelsea.” Uneven and sprawling-at Untitled a Marc Chagall painting rubs shoulders with a Daniel Gordon still life-the shows are also as exuberant as a family dinner.
