The International Center of Photography has selected Mark Robbins as its new executive director. Robbins, who will assume the post in July, is currently the dean of the School of Architecture at Syracuse University.
He has previously served as the curator for architecture at the Wexner Center for the Arts from 1993–1999 as director of design at the National Endowment for the Arts from 1999–2002. He is also author of the book “Households” (2006) which uses photography to examine the ways in which people inhabit their environments. As executive director Robbins will guide the ICP into a new era while maintaining its legacy as a leading institution dedicated to the practice and understanding of photography.
