Dallas’s Nasher Sculpture Center may soon have new opposition in a troublesome negotiation with a neighbor. The glass facade of the Museum Tower, a nearby residential building, has been reflecting intense sunlight into the museum and its grounds. The conflict has raged since the Tower was erected over a year ago.
A Dallas-based developer, Jack Matthews, has now made an offer to buy Museum Tower from its current owners, the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System.
In a statement, the Nasher says, “The Nasher Sculpture Center was pleased to learn that Jack Matthews has made an offer to further develop Museum Tower. Mr. Matthews has demonstrated time and again that he is a thoughtful, civic-minded developer committed to our community, and we would welcome the opportunity to work with a willing partner to resolve the problem quickly and effectively.”
