For the first time since 1990, the U.S. Pavilion has received the Golden Lion for Best National Participation at the Venice Biennale. “Bruce Nauman: Topological Gardens,” is the much-heralded survey of Nauman’s career, organized by the Philadelphia Museum of Art in collaboration with the Università Iuav di Venezia and the Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia (the exhibition is on view at the pavilion and at both universities). Over 30 works from public and private collections are on view; Nauman also developed two new works for Venice, Days and Giorni (the latter is a collaboration between the artist and students from both universities).
