Rodney Graham: The Drywaller, 2012, two painted aluminum lightboxes with transmounted chromogenic transparencies, 119 5/8 by 148 inches overall. Courtesy 303.
Nicely ensconced in its temporary location, 303 shows lightbox photographs and tiny fragments of paintings by Rodney Graham, the Canadian ironist. As usual, art history is in play, as Graham inserts himself into cheekily updated versions of paintings by Carl Spitzweg and Thomas Eakins.
