In “Call with Information,” New York-based painter Suzanne McClelland continues her ongoing exploration of text fragments and numbers, this time from news reports documenting American extremism. One series of canvases focuses on domestic terrorists (e.g. Elizabeth Anna Duke, Joseph Mahmoud Dibee). The messy, collaged-together materials—FBI wanted posters, grainy photographs, partially legible news clippings—add to the fear and chaos inherit in McClelland’s subject. The show also includes large-scale number paintings (similar to those in her last show at Team).
