Flamboyant artist Terence Koh, known for his all-white garb and living space and a fixture in the art world’s social scene, will now be represented by Sean Kelly, the gallery has announced. The artist started out designing fanzines and books under the alias asianpunkboy. His last show at Mary Boone, “nothingtoodoo,” in February of 2011, had him kneeling and crawling around a large pile of salt that filled the gallery.
Kelly appears to be on a shopping spree, having announced just last month that he had signed Los Angeles-based artist Nathan Mabry, who shows with Cherry and Martin in L.A. and with Praz-Delavallade in Paris. He also recently bagged photographer Alec Soth, who previously showed with Gagosian, and painter Kehinde Wiley, who exhibited with the now-shuttered Deitch Projects and has a show opening at the Jewish Museum.
