ICA Miami Plans Shows With Ebner, Miller, Sullivan

The Institute of Contemporary Art Miami, the new contemporary museum in Miami’s Design District, has just announced its programming for 2015 through 2016, which will feature shows of Shannon Ebner, John Miller, and Ryan Sullivan.

Comprising the new museum’s first full season of exhibition programming, the exhibitions coupled with ICA Miami’s inaugural program—which opens to the public on December 3, 2014 with the work of Pedro Reyes and Andra Ursuta—further the museum’s goal to present the most radically experimental contemporary art of our time, and to provide innovative emerging artists with an institutional platform for their work.

Beginning in April 2015, Ryan Sullivan’s richly layered large-scale abstract paintings will be on view at the ICA Miami in the artist’s first solo presentation in an American museum. Next up will be a major installation of Shannon Ebner’s serial photography, which investigates the correlations between photography and language. Conceptual artist John Miller will kick off 2016 with an exhibition of over 50 works across a range of mediums— including new large-scale sculptures, paintings, and installations – that examine the legacy of Minimalism and art historical conventions in the presentation of art.
