Art Basel Miami Beach announced its film program for the 2014 fair, and Tim Burton’s Big Eyes–a biopic about Walter and Margaret Keane starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz–will have a special screening before its national release on December 25. (Burton, if you’ll recall, is no art world novice; he was the subject of a critically derided but highly popular retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 2009.)
Other selections in the film program, chosen by curator David Gryn, include works by Charles Atlas, Martin Creed, Susan Hiller, Parker Ito, Mark Leckey, Babette Mangolte, Takeshi Murata, Laure Prouvost, Alex Prager, Mark Wallinger, as well as a tribute to the late filmmaker Harun Farocki, who passed away in July A full line-up is available here.
