Ahead of opening its Miami art fair in December, the New Art Dealers Alliance has named the winners of this year’s NADA Miami International Gallery Prize: London’s Arcadia Missa and Tokyo’s Asakusa. As winners of the prize, both galleries will be invited to show at the fair for the first time, in booths paid for by NADA.
A release said that Arcadia Missa will bring works by Lewis Hammond and Reba Maybury to the fair, while Asakusa will be showing new pieces by Anton Vidokle and Yoshua Okón. They will participate alongside 125 more galleries who plan to exhibit at the fair, which runs from December 6 to 9 at Ice Palace Studios.
In a statement, Heather Hubbs, the executive director of NADA, said, “The International Gallery Prize was founded to provide galleries from outside the U.S. an opportunity to participate in a NADA fair—which often happens to be their first American fair—in a way that both minimizes the financial risk and encourages experimentation. It has been a great way for us to direct attention to the quality of programs from galleries around the world”
