Chelsea’s Deller Eller Gallery has hired Brian Faucette as director.
Faucette, who joins Eller after six years at 303 Gallery, is co-owner and director of the Knowmoregames gallery, which is located in the so-called Donut District of Brooklyn, on the border of Carroll Gardens and Red Hook. He’ll stay active in that enterprise, which has done shows with artists like Justin Lieberman, Rose Marcus, and Peter Harkawik, as well as one-off projects in temporary spaces, like Hot House (with Night Gallery), during this year’s Frieze New York, and NPR Bar, during last year’s Miami Basel.
“I was initially attracted to the program by Adam Marnie and Jesse Greenberg, two amazing young artists I’ve had the pleasure of working with before,” Faucette told ARTnews in an e-mail. “Seeing how thoughtfully they have been placed within a broader historic context was inspiring. I’m looking forward to both continuing my involvement with the career of emerging artists while participating in with such a rich history.”
Among Eller’s other artists are Dan Fischer, Karl Wirsum, Despina Stokou, and Alyson Shotz, who opens a show there on October 10.
