Today Expo Chicago announced details of the talks program that will accompany its 2017 fair, which runs from September 13 to 17, the same time as the opening of the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
Among the talks in the 30-panel program, boldly titled “/Dialogues,” is “Make New History: Photography in the Expanded Field of Architecture,” which will include contributions from Adam Caruso, Thomas Demand, Florian Idenburg, and Luisa Lambri, and which will be moderated by Jesús Vassallo. Other discussion topics will include criticism in a post-truth era (ARTnews Editor-in-Chief Sarah Douglas will be on this panel), the work of the Italian collective SuperDesign, and race and museums today.
The Sharjah Art Foundation’s president and director, Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi; artist Michael Rakowitz, and Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago Curator Naomi Beckwith are among those expected to speak as part of the “/Dialogues” program.
