This November, Gavin Brown’s Enterprise will open a second space on the Lower East Side at 291 Grand Street.
Chatter of Brown’s real estate develompents has been going on for some time. Brown confirmed the new space at Frieze London, where he said it was more of a “basement.”
The first show is set to open November 11, with a show of works by Steven Pippin. Brown said the new space might allow for some experimentation, but that there will never be any confusion about who owns the place.
“Yeah it will be,” he said, when asked if the name “GBE” will be displayed on the door. “We couldn’t think of what else to call it!”
