South Africa’s Goodman Gallery announced today that it now represents Yinka Shonibare MBE, Samson Kambalu, Paulo Nazareth, and Grada Kilomba. They join a roster that includes Ghada Amer, Candice Breitz, William Kentridge, and Hank Willis Thomas.
A few of the artists added to the gallery’s slate have notable shows in the pipeline or now on view. Shonibare is currently showing work at the Venice Biennale’s Diaspora Pavilion, while Kilomba is set to have a show at Portugal’s Serralves Museum of Art this June.
“These interdisciplinary artists produce work at the nexus of contemporary art and social action,” Liza Esser, the gallery’s director, said in a statement. “We look forward to having them further the gallery’s role as a major force in platforming transformative ideas and subversive uses of artistic practice.”
