The Outsider Art Fair has revealed the exhibitors for its 2017 Paris edition, which will this year celebrate its fifth anniversary. (The fair also has a longer-running New York counterpart; the 2017 edition was its 25th.) This year’s Outsider Art Fair Paris opens in the French capital on October 19 at the Hôtel du Duc.
Thirty-four exhibitors are slated to bring work by outsider artists to the fair. Among the new exhibitors are Paris’s La Fabuloserie Galerie and Amsterdam’s Outsider Art Museum.
In addition to the main exhibitors sector, the fair will also host a curated space dedicated to Daniel Cordier, the 97-year-old French collector who notably gifted 500 art brut works to the Centre Pompidou between 1973 and 1989. A talks series accompanying the fair will include a conversation with Cordier and a talk about Karel Appel, who is currently the subject of a major retrospective at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
